How does my application access eWebReports?
After installation on your server, your application will use a simple URL to access eWebReports.

How can eWebReports take on the look and feel of my application?
We have created eWebReports to be as flexible as possible. The use of Cascading Style Sheets and replaceable graphic components allow you to change most of the visual elements in the interface. Your colors, logo, font styles, etc. can all be used to customize the interface as much as you desire.

How can I use the eWebReports API?
The eWebReports published API permits a wide variety of customization options allowing flexibility for your specific needs. Upon execution of eWebReports, the API creates a temporary, unique, encrypted file on the fly and is deleted immediately after use for security purposes.

How do I set up access to my data?
The eWebReports Administrator, our setup assistant, allows you to easily view and set up your data objects.

DATA ACCESS

How is my data accessed?
Direct database access is accomplished through ADO.NET native drivers (currently SQL Server and Oracle). In addition, data can be accessed thru Web Services.

Can I join data from different data sources in the same report?
A wide variety of data objects can be accessed simultaneously via SQL Server, Oracle and Web Services including:

    tables

    views

    functions

    stored procedures

    any user-defined data from Web Services

   All of these disparate data sources can be joined together to present the information in a meaningful format.

Can I include images in my report?
Yes. Your images can be any custom-created, web-optimized graphic in GIF, JPG, PNG or BMP format.

What level of security does eWebReports support?
eWebReports supports report folder, data object and row level security.

When and how do I set up security?
You can set up security at implementation via our Set-up Assistant or at run time through the API.

What if I have unique security requirements?
Unique security requirements are not unusual and we have created eWebReports such that the API can be adapted to your unique requirements.

Does eWebReports require its own authentication?
eWebReports can easily be set up to work as part of your application's authentication.

USABILITY

Does eWebReports require Active-X controls or other plug-ins?
No. eWebReports' rich user interface is accomplished with JavaScript and AJAX.

Does eWebReports require sub-reporting?
Unlike other report writers, eWebReports DOES NOT require sub-reports to resolve the issues that arise with multiple one-to-many relationships against the same data object.

How do users access eWebReports?
eWebReports can be accessed using Internet Explorer or Firefox browsers.

Does eWebReports support drag-n-drop?
